The Rypos Active DPF/ULETRU diesel particulate filter is California Air Resources Board (CARB) Level 3 Plus verified for use on Carrier Transicold and Thermo King transportation refrigeration units (TRU) using 2003 and newer model year engines.
This system reduces particulate matter by more than 85% in TRU applications and installs in less than four hours. With more than 3,000 DPFs sold, the Rypos DPF/ULETRU is engineered to work seamlessly with both Thermo King and Carrier Transicold refrigeration units without the need for any operator interaction. Rypos is offering the DPF to small and large fleets in a low-cost trial pilot program. Fleet owners can contact Peter Ellison, Rypos West Region sales manager, at 1-949-395-4190 for more information.
The DPF is designed to enable operators to comply with CARB’s Ultra-Low-Emission TRU (ULETRU) in-use performance standard. Developed to meet emerging state and federal regulations for TRU diesel emissions, the system provides 60% savings over the cost of engine re-power to TRU owners and the lowest total cost for CARB TRU ATCM compliance.
Due to the modular design of the Rypos DPF/ULETRU, the filter can be moved from unit to unit within a fleet, allowing for flexibility for retiring or selling older units. Rypos’ nationwide dealer service network has more than 30 dealers in California including select Thermo King and Carrier Transicold locations. The system mounts easily within the TRU frame, requires only 12 volts of DC power, and comes with a four-year or 2,600-hour warranty.
The active, electronically regenerating diesel exhaust Rypos Active DPF/ULETRU system replaces the muffler and operates online without engine shutdown. Minimal maintenance is required. Information on specific conditions of the CARB approval is available on CARB’s Verification Procedure–Level 3 web page.
